Oh my Lord! I have been in a chip of a volume slump this year, I have read and so many books that experience the same and are so forgetful that I was starting to lose hope. I have been much braver though, and I have tried many new authors that I oasis't read before, and it's been great to find so much talent that I was always besides stuck in my ways to attempt before now.

When this volume popped upwards to read on the Kindle First plan, I decided to accept a look at the blurb and then went for information technology. I then spent the next 24 hours devouring this story in between existent life stuff.

OMG, I loved information technology! Seriously LOVED.

It's about a bookworm who see'southward herself every bit a bit of a manifestly Jane (her name incidentally, is Jane) and she is the complete reverse of her older sister, who is outgoing and adventurous, and although she loves her with all her heart, she admits to feeling jealous of e'er being the less attractive, less interesting, and bottom sis.

Her sister besides has a business partner. His name is Caleb, he'southward a Southern gentleman, who she finds extremely annoying (ly hot) and when he is not off traveling the world with said sis for his task, he and Jane have some great barrack going on, information technology's kinda like a brother/sis vibe...except information technology'southward not.

Tell Me started off calorie-free hearted, just and so it merely took me on a journeying that I was non expecting. It was heart-wrenching, and emotional - just absolutely beautiful. The writing was exquisite, I actually can't believe I take never read anything past this author before - that is going to be rectified immediately, I can't wait to explore more than books if they are anything like this ane.

I would describe Tell Me as a 'Friends to Lovers' romance, but also a story of self-discovery, learning how to fight your demons, and post-obit your dreams.

five Stars from me.

4.5 stars!

First off, cheers Arabella ~♡AB♡~'s review for bringing this book and this author to my attention. I enjoyed this book so much. I cried and laugh, and let me tell yous that I've never rooted so hard for a couple as much as I did with Jane and Caleb.

Both are securely flawed and complex characters whose differences might be too great that love might non be plenty!

Yes, you read that correct! In that location were moments in the book where I was like...

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Why? Because the disharmonize is that good. Simple just actually effective and it's not very obvious if we go past the blurb. In fact, I thought initially that it'due south going to exist something else. Just I adopt the direction that the author took. It'due south a very mature conflict and she was able to actually flesh out the story and each of the characters.

Bated from the conflict, what I also loved near this book was how tight the writing was. Not 1 scene or interaction was wasted. Everything that you read has a purpose. And the writer did a fantastic task tying up all the loose ends and giving readers the answers to questions they have about the characters and the story. It was masterful.

But what really fabricated this volume a favorite was its cast of characters. Jane and Caleb felt real. Jane is a shy bookstore owner. At first, I was skeptical because the character sounds really cliched. I mean, hello, shy, plain-Jane bookstore possessor? That's like classic character trope.

Only the more yous read, the more you see the nuances of Jane's graphic symbol. And the same goes for Caleb. He's a tough nut to crack. He was a very intriguing character. At first, he came off actually self and was a scrap annoying. The moment the two of them are together on page, you could feel the tension that was borne out of their differences despite the fact that there's definitely an attraction in that location.

I loved how Anne of Greenish Gables was used every bit sort of a backdrop in the story. Information technology was clever and information technology made me want to read Anne of Green Gables again. It made me curious virtually the lore behind that series.

Some other intriguing layer to this volume was Sam, Jane's beautiful and adventurous older sis who also happens to Caleb'south best friend and business organisation partner. She was the thread that connected Jane and Caleb at showtime. Her tragic death served as a catalyst for Jane and Caleb'southward relationship. I personally didn't experience that her presence detracted from the romance betwixt Jane and Caleb. I idea that Jane's feelings about Sam was handled really well. Again, it felt real and information technology was and so heartbreaking.

In that location are so many thing I loved about this volume. I especially loved how the writer brought everything in full circle, giving readers what they long for. The resolution wasn't perfect but it fit the story really well.

Tell Me is a heartwarming story about ii people who couldn't exist more different from each other autumn in love. It's a beautifully written romance which I highly recommend you lot guys read.

This is not actually a review, this is me needing to vent. I finished this 4 days ago and waited to write a review hoping that I volition at-home downwards, but NOPE, I'M STILL A LITTLE SALTY.

Beware - Spoiler Alee | MCs - Caleb and Jane

Caleb left Jane in a unlike country. Like literally drove off and left her in another country past herself!
    description/

Authors, there are some actions that are irredeemable. This would be one of them.
    description/

The wiggle didn't even take the decency to call and brand certain she was okay. You would retrieve that afterward a few days of her not returning to New York, that information technology would set off an alarm in his head "hey, perchance I should check on her." Nope, he sits in her apartment making origami birds.
    description/

Yep...birds. Ms. Strom, I empathize that this was supposed to be sweet, only JANE WAS Substantially MISSING FOR 4 DAYS. Caleb had no thought where she was or if she was okay.

Jane'due south text to Caleb when she learned that he left her was AMAZING! I read it about 10 times.
    description/

    Whew...I really experience meliorate.
And then, GR Friends, there were some good parts in the book too, you should pick it up
Later I bluster for over half of my 'review,' I encourage you to read the book LOL

"I retrieve about the snow falling outside and your Harry Potter pajamas and how goddamn beautiful you looked. I think about your nails on my back and your legs around my waist. I think about sinking within yous and wanting to stay in that location forever. I recall about the expect on your face when you came."

Bookish and tranquility Jane has always lived life on the sidelines while her fun and vivacious older sister, Sam, chose to live her life assurance to the wall, pedal to the medal loud. Sam and her all-time friend and business concern partner, Caleb, accept tried with little success to get Jane to step exterior of her comfort zone and experience life in one case in a while instead of just reading virtually information technology.

There'southward always been a mutual attraction between Caleb and Jane but yous know how it goes when neither of the crushing couple makes a motility; they both end up suffering in silence, thinking the other could never experience the same way. When tragedy strikes and both must deal with the sudden loss of Sam, volition it bring them closer together or drive them further apart?

I've read a few Abigail Strom books in the past and have always enjoyed the quality of her writing. Tell Me is no exception. I especially honey the way she chose to write Caleb and his point of view. We get only enough to understand what he's feeling just not enough to accept away all of the mystery.

As much equally I enjoyed the writing, I didn't really connect with either character, but most peculiarly Jane. Usually when information technology comes to the women I spend my volume time with, I can notice something I tin chronicle to. Not only was that not the case with Jane simply there were times I just didn't like her. I felt her little sister pain for certain (older pretty sister, etc.) just I kept wondering why Caleb had such strong feelings for her, besides the big blood brother blazon stuff he'd throw her way every once in a while. I will say the "Dan" side storyline made my heart interruption for Jane a trivial.

I did relish the journey these two somewhen took to ensure Sam's final wishes were met. Unfortunately it just wasn't enough to push this book over the four star mark.

    FOR GOODREADS

    tell me1

    Title: Tell me
    Author: Abigail Strom
    Genre: Romance Contemporary
    Publishing date: October ane, 2017

I was going through a major reading slump... For a person who loves to read. There is nothing worst than a reading slump. I've read so many books this by month still cipher felt correct. There were times where I had this fear of not existence able to enjoy reading after buying all the books you know your are going to like and from authors who's work you've been obsessing about. Aye, to some that might sound dramatic but a fellow book worm similar myself would sympathize. Yes they would.
Tell Me Past Abigail Strom, re-ignited my love of reading. strong words, I know. Just information technology really did.

Jane has everything I want... Surround myself with books all day long and own a bookstore. Need I say more?!
To exist honest, I got really protective of Jane while I read this volume. I mean, So what if her life revolves effectually her books? Who wouldn't desire to be surrounded by books and receive endless knowledge and permit your imagination and creativity run wild?
Caleb and Jane were complete opposites. To Caleb, only what he touched, saw and tasted was real whereas for Jade, her imagination was just every bit precious as his beloved for action and adventure. Something I agree with wholeheartedly- Her thoughts and dreams were every bit real as the physical world.

Tell Me is a book nerd galore... something any book fiend would understand and dear. This book makes the inner nerd in me grinning like a banshee and scream "OMG!I desire that!" or "I get you lot, girl!!"

This book has a lot of beautiful moments - a very beautiful hero and heroine who are friends merely firmly friends - no hanky panky. Anne of Greenish Gables is mentioned a lot and Jane owns a bookstore! She is more of a dreamer where Caleb, our hero is an adventurer. He travels the world taking people on adventures. Jane thinks he is crazy - the idea of a elementary hike holds no attraction to her at all. Caleb grew up on a farm, so he too has a cowboy vibe going on - wears a stetson, jeans and boots. AND his home base is in New York Metropolis. Then he is a jumbled adventurer, cowboy, urban center slicker... possibly all of that felt a piffling forced..merely he is cute and a charmer and won me over.

Caleb runs his travel business organization with Jane's sister, and the three of them are super close. Jane also lives and works in New Yorck Urban center and one day wants to write a book. She loves imagination and living in her head. Caleb loves experiencing things first hand and is an adreline junky. Opposites for sure - but Caleb looks upon Jane with lust. She has placed him firmly in the "brother" category, and every bit Caleb starts to listen to his centre, he realizes his feelings accept turned romantic towards her. He doesn't know what that means in terms of their lifestyles, every bit he travels many weeks out of the year - merely that doesn't stop him from attempting a courtship. He soon learns that trying to courtroom a girl who doesn't realize she is being wooed, is difficult.

This is all adorable and cute and I was in that location for it.

      And then.

So an event happens. No, it's not cheating or anything like that. Merely it's a distressing event and I wasn't' expecting information technology and damn it. The event itself wasn't a deal breaker for me, but it completely inverse the tone of the book. Nosotros go from adorbs to sad and heavy. The emotions and journey are done well. Very well. But I too feel similar the romance gets lost in all of the heaviness. It takes a dorsum seat and while there is a solid HEA at the end, the romance overall could have been bigger. I'll put what happens in a spoiler tag - simply otherwise I'one thousand not going to expand on information technology.

I remember some will love this volume - merely I can also run across other people having a negative reaction.  I feel right down the centre - ambrosial first half. Too much sadness in the 2nd half.

Caleb is a handsome cowboy and Sam'due south best friend, Sam is the sassy and energetic adventurer, and Jane, Jane is Sam's little sister and resident Plainly Jane book owner. Jane has accepted her role, accepted that she'southward different than her sister, and accepted that her life is most exciting when she'southward living in a volume. She'south found a sure kind of happiness, a happiness that works for her, only information technology's shaken upward past Caleb's visit and request. She'southward adamant about non joining them on a hike, non even for Sam's altogether, but when an unexpected accident occurs Jane finds that the most she tin can do is only go by. Caleb makes it his mission to bring the erstwhile Jane back and spark some of Sam'south energy inside of her while he's at information technology. He joins her on a trip that'southward as crazy as they come up, but together they find out that saying goodbye could also help them beginning anew.

"'Now, if you were going to imagine the perfeact man for yourself, what would he be like?'
      The perfect human being."

Talk about a book to get y'all over your reading slump! I take read so many great books this twelvemonth and I've tried a lot of new authors, but I've been getting discouraged by what is out there. The stories are all the same and so anticipated, and so I sort of put off reading Tell Me by Abigail Strom for quite a while. I've filled my time with suspense books and other diverse activities, but something most this cover, this blurb, sucked me in. It turns out, this was merely the correct book for me. It's romantic, it's sugariness, it's got quite a flake of malaise, and information technology breathes life into the sibling's best friend trope that was growing so sometime.

"Feeling and sesnation swept through her. Her whole body felt similar a frozen limb coming back to life, the claret tingling and smarting as it returned."

I really enjoyed Jane, she'due south my sort of bookworm. Caleb, on the other paw, is your greatest cowboy fantasy wrapped in a boy. They shouldn't make sense, in fact they really don't make sense, but they piece of work. They each accept flaws and great losses to work through, something that only friends who trust one another can work through together. I loved that nearly of the book focused on their friendship and how Sam is the mucilage that really holds them together. I actually capeesh the focus on sibling jealousy, the natural rivalry that comes with it, and the love that really overpowers it all. It'south a unique story and information technology feels like a true story and not merely a bit of fiction. I institute myself laughing at them, crying at other times, and really hoping they go the happy ending each and then deserves. Information technology's heart wrenching and emotional, only wrapped in a sweet, romantic bow that any sweet romance fan will dearest. The weight of this novel is the merely downside, I really hadn't expected to cry, but ended up affectionate the direction Abigail Strom took the story in. Plus, these ii have so much chemistry that it's obvious from the start that they are meant to be.

"His middle squeezed in his chest. You are unlike. You are special."

Tell Me may characteristic a simple storyline, but Abigail Strom effectively brings it to life similar a moving picture. The characters are well developed, the volume features a really bully necktie-in of Anne of Green Gables (only my favorite book every bit a child), and the characters share dynamic interactions and fantastic dialogue. If you're a fan of friends-to-lovers and sibling's all-time friend romances, Tell Me is a book to cheque out.

      4+ stars.
I picked this up on Netgalley, it sounded interesting and afterward reading I am so glad that I did. This is a new author for me.
I really liked this book on so many levels. Swell story and wonderfully complex characters every bit well as author's beautiful and unique writing style. She really tastefully handled all the deep and traumatic scenes in a manner that was mature and very existent.
Every bit I read more of this volume it was articulate that the initial impressions I formed of Jane and Caleb were just scratching their grapheme's surface and I really began to run into and feel how flawed and yet very lovable these characters were.
I and so badly wanted this couple to arrive together, even though I could relate to the internal disharmonize both of them were struggling with.
The later use of the "Anne of Green Gables" story within this book was very cornball reading for me and added yet another chemical element to a actually deep and beautiful love story.
I highly recommend this i to all lovers of contemporary romance and friends to lovers stories.

What I like about this book:
      1. The story. It is a very sweet story.
      2. The contrast between the characters. Jane is more than loner merely she is centered. Caleb is audacious and more impulsive. And the author done a good task bringing these 2 characters together.
      3. The button and pull makes me smile. Especially when Caleb ends upward listening to the whole audio book.

      What I think need comeback:
      1. Diction. The wording does not period nicely. I feel it is rigid and the diction can be edited to show more dramatic and more steamy.
ii. The plot/ disharmonize can be heighten.

Even so this is a unproblematic volume with a sweet story.

        Likable characters? Yes
        Depressing ? No.

Tell Me delivered a skillful blend of humor and opposite-attraction romance without filler or fluff. It is kind of sugariness that Anne of Green Gables occasionally popped up in my mind throughout the book. A surprisingly good read:)
